Audience Acquisition, 2011
Part of “Without You I’m Nothing: Art and It’s Audience”
Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago
A six hour performance in which patrons were documented not as quantitative data, but as a work of art traditionally would upon it’s induction into a collection.
After being scrutinized and photographed by “museum officials” with absurdist titles, accepted “works” were placed into protective suits and included as the only sheltered, non-interactive elements in the exhibition. DO NOT TOUCH.
